Facilities
Here at All Saints' Episcopal Church, our mission is to be a faithful community of stewards of God’s will and gifts to have a positive influence on all we touch. All Saints’ welcomes the use of its multipurpose sanctuary and other facilities by parishioners and members of the community, provided the activity does not conflict with a scheduled church function.
The wooded area west of the All Saints parking lot has come to be known as the Outdoor Sanctuary. Its main access point is through an archway designating it as Holy Space. It includes the following areas:
(1) The Labyrinth, almost 70 feet in diameter, can be used as a spiritual tool for prayer, reflection, contemplation, meditation, or worship. We traditionally have an organized ceremony and labyrinth walk on the days of the spring and fall equinoxes, as well as the summer and winter solstices, but anyone is welcome to walk it at any time.
(2) The Columbarium, in the shape of a Maltese cross, is used for interment of ashes.
(3) Julie’s Garden is an area memorializing a beloved member of All Saints using native plants, since these were favorites of hers.
(4) The pet cemetery commemorates our beloved animals.
(5) The 14 Stations of the Cross, placed along a natural pathway that winds through the Sanctuary, are the latest addition and still in the process of development. They provide a concrete way to experience and reflect on the condemnation and crucifixion of Jesus. The first formal walk of our Stations was during Holy Week of 2016. The next stage will entail parishioners creating artwork to illustrate the themes of each individual Station, using their particular artistic gifts.
(6) Benches and Memorials, given as gifts to enhance the area.
The Outdoor Sanctuary Committee meets as needed and oversees the care, needs, and use of this area. Various parishioners contribute their time to enhance and maintain it.
